Sheesh! The ACC is supposed to be the second-best conference and the Wildcats manhandled the Blue Devils. When I wrote that article in February, ‘Nova was dominating Syracuse, but in the last month the Orange have become dramatically better. Five of the Elite Eight being from the Big East is well within the realm of possibility. The Final Four may very well be a rematch of the Big East Conference tournament!

It’s the first time I’ve watched the Wildcats play all here, and I have to say that I am very impressed by the strength of this team! Talented players, with great spurt-ability, and very well-coached–every player chasing down every rebound, great team defense creating numerous takeaways.

Villanova is ranked #12 in the nation in the latest AP poll. The scary thing is, they are only the fifth best team in the Big East.

Fifth best.  Connecticut, Pitt, Louisville and Marquette are all ranked above them.  Five teams in the Top Twelve.  And Syracuse (#24 in the AP, the sixth ranked Big East team) is playing a very tough game against ‘Nova.

Even for a great basketball conference, the Big East is amazingly good this year.
