NFL 2016 Week 5 Thursday Night Game Picks & Analysis – FootballThursday, October 6, 2016 15:24
Picks & analysis for 2016 NFL Week 5 Thursday Night Game.
NFL Week 5 Thursday Night
ARIZONA CARDINALSS (1-3) @ SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (1-3) 47 [U]
Has Bruce Arians hit a coaching wall? Unfortunately, such walls can sprout out of the NFL ground without prior notice. A concussion here, a knee there, and an Achilles waiting around the corner and all of a sudden a Super Bowl contender has to struggle to make the playoffs.
When you’re 1-3, trying to avoid an almost inescapable hole of 1-4, you want your best players to step up. Unfortunately for the Red Birds, Carson Palmer Chris Johnson and a handful of other quality players are out of commission.
It might not matter against the Gold Miners. When phenom ILB Navarro Bowman ruptured an Achilles, an already depleted San Fran defense became seriously crippled.
We believe Arians will run all over the field with Drew Stanton handing off to David Johnson and Andre Ellington against one of the poorest rushing defenses in the league.
The wild card in this one may be free speech advocate Colin Kaepernik. If Chip Kelley comes to his senses and benches Blaine Gabbert, CK might show he fits Kelley’s system like a glove.
We think Arizona’s defense will dominate Under the Number.
