Picks & analysis for 2016 NFL Week 2 Thursday Night Game.
NFL Week 1 Thursday Night
NEW YORK JETS (0-1) @ BUFFALO BILLS (0-1)
This game has become an annual slugfest at both team’s home stadium—one of the most bruising games of the year.
It’s kind of funny…Rex Ryan has proven over and over his teams seldom cover the checks he writes with his mouth.
There is so much to dislike about Rex’s yapping—yet the guy has an endearing quality about him. Might be, you know he loves his players and they’ve always played hard for him. Might be, you know he believes what he says…
The cool thing about humanity is we can’t explain, or understand everything and along with the Donald’s poll numbers, Rex Ryan’s likability falls into that category.
One thing we do understand is great defense, and the Jets just might have one if Darrell Revis lives up to his rep. We also know Todd Boles is emerging as one of the NFL’s eminently solid coaches who lets his team’s play speak for him.
Given Ryan Kirkpatrick’s 1-7 record against Rex’s defenses, the Bills playing at home—honoring Bruce Smith, no less—the easy call would be to take the Buffalo.
You know we never take the easy pick. Tyrod Taylor has yet to become what Rex promised; Sammy Watkins is injured, yet again, but will play. LeSean McCoy was bad against the Crows last week and the offensive line has to jell—the Bills had 167 total yards against Baltimore.
Were taking the Airplanes, Under the Number, to send the Bills to 0-2 and begin the end of the Ryan regime in Buffalo. The Bills face the Cards and Pats in their next two games, 0-4 could be in their future.
