Three reasons the Cleveland Cavaliers will win the NBA Finals.
We are two games into the NBA season and the signs are already looking promising for the Cleveland Cavaliers. After a narrowly losing 95-90 to the New York Knicks they went on to beat the Chicago Bulls 114-108, in what is seen as many as the Eastern Conference Final, come 2015. It has been well noted that LeBron James has returned to his hometown club after spending the past four years with the Miami Heat. His homecoming – paired with the acquisition of Kevin Love – lead to Betfair installing the Cavs as the favourites for the NBA title, something which they will achieve. Here’s why.

By the time James retires he may well be the greatest basketball player to have ever graced the game, usurping Michael Jordan in the process. In James, the Cavs have the best player in the league, his performance against Chicago once again highlighted how ridiculously talented he is. Against the Bulls, James notched up 36 points, and of Cleveland’s final 23 points he scored or assisted 17 of them. When he was previously at Cleveland, James was too young to lead, but now he has his two NBA Championship rings he is ready, and there is no better leader in the NBA than the boy from Akron.

Complimenting LeBron is Kyrie Irving. It is a gross injustice that in his three years in the NBA, Irving has never made it to the playoffs although that will likely change this year. You only need to look at his stats to realise just how talented Irving is: his career points per game average is 20.7, he also boasts 5.8 assists per game. These figures are good in their own right, but when you factor in the fact that Irving has been playing for a side that has lost 152 games in the past three years, you really start to see how special he is. With James alongside him expect Irving to flourish. He is free from the shackles of leadership and can now play his natural game, which, by all accounts, is extraordinary.

Brought in over the summer, Kevin Love is one of the most dominant point scorers in the NBA. Last year he became the first player to record 2,000 points, 900 rebounds and 100 3-pointers in a season. In short, he is stupendously good.
These three combined make the Cleveland Cavaliers the best team in America and the dead certs to win a maiden NBA championship.
