NFL Week 12 Thursday Night Pick & Analysis – FootballThursday, November 21, 2013 15:42
Pick and analysis of the 2013 NFL Week 12 Thursday night game.
NFL WEEK 12 THURSDAY
New Orleans Saints @ Atlanta Falcons +9.5
This game was a “Lock” candidate but the spread was way too wide to pick against a home dog. 9.5 to 10 points?
That’s just asking for trouble.
But, I’m still not picking the Falcons.
The organization seems to be in shambles after a 2012 during which the Birds of Prey were a cricket’s eyelash away from a Super Bowel berth.
GM Thomas Domitrovich and the front office are more at fault than the coaching staff—or more accurately the Falcons are paying the price for paying Matt Ryan like he was Peyton Manning. A dilemma teams with “franchise quarterbacks” must face sooner or later.
Atlanta said goodbye to John Abraham and injury-plagued CB Brent Grimes this off-season. Abraham was the only physical presence on a team playing a relatively easy 2012 schedule.
They weren’t so fortunate this year.
Conversely, the visiting Saints seem like a team bent on revenge. Sean Payton is back and the defense under Rob Ryan is fourth best in the NFL.
That makes New Orleans my favorite to win the NFC and makes the Falcons a victim in waiting.
SAINTS 37, FALCONS 17
