Guest post about the sports stats comparison service FindTheData.

Compare Your Favorite Teams Side-By-Side with FindTheData

If you thought there weren’t enough sports statistics comparisons, you were probably right. People who don’t understand the thrill of it always pose the same small-minded questions and dumb down these artistic expressions of human athletics to phrases like, “It’s just a bunch of dudes running around throwing a ball. It’s always the same game, just one court and 10 players.” I’m not going to go into detail the several reasons why whoever said that should get a ball – any ball – to the face. But the fact of the matter is sports are a living, ever changing, and that means keeping up can be difficult.

There’s now an online reference tool called FindTheData that lets you to make side-by-side comparisons of sports teams and athletes. Maybe you want to see how the Bruins match up to the Wildcats for March Madness. Or maybe you want to find out the top ten MLB franchises that have won the most World Series titles. You can even find out how much college coaches make and compare them by salaries.

So use it the next time you want to do some quick research or introduce someone and enlighten them so they don’t make the same ignorant mistake that sports isn’t worth the study.
