2010 NFL Draft Top Ten Picks Team Needs
Saturday, April 17, 2010 16:15What holes do the teams with the Top Ten picks in the 2010 NFL Draft need to fill?
Inadequacies
It is that time when teams look to build future powerhouses in the search for the golden rings, hoping to pick potential Pro Bowlers and Hall of Famers in the NFL Draft. Here is a look at team needs, numbers one through ten.
-
St. Louis Rams
Coach Stave Spagnuolo came from the Giants with a defensive mind but struggled with the Rams. He now wants to add points to help that defense. Look for the Rams to take a high impact defensive player or trade for one with their first pick. They may work with what they have at the quarterback position.
-
Detroit Lions
The Motor City needs a piston, and their new line production struggled on offense last season. Many needs could be met but QB is not one of them. Matt Stafford was a mental leader. Developing an offense would allow Stafford to control the clock. A guard would help the offensive line–there is quality available early.
-
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Tampa is looking to punish defenses with two power runners in the backfield. They also need to open up the field, so taking a wide out that can blossom early with sure hands is a no-brainier.
-
Washington Redskins
Front office moves will allow wiggle room for roster changes and camp invites. Shanahan will use this pick to create a horse line for his thoroughbred runners and quarterback protection for short route passing. Look for a quick lineman who can stomp the A gaps for big runs.
-
Kansas City Chiefs
How the west was won was with a 3-4 defense, and the Chiefs will build on that by picking a linebacker or tackle, thus allowing their strong secondary to be utilized for good field position on offense.
-
Seattle Seahawks
With two picks, in what direction will Pete Carroll be going? Does he want a quick offense? Is he looking for a halfback or a guard to up open some holes and move the ball or his he looking to add to the offense by grabbing a speed route wide receiver?
-
Cleveland Browns
The Browns are looking to rock that 3-4 front with a strong nose tackle or linebacker. They need a hard hitter to cement block and stop the ball, allowing the offense some good field for clock and rock.
-
Oakland Raiders
The Raiders did some spring cleaning and want to stack the shelves with some speed at linebacker, tackle and corner-back. A lot of quarterback pressure will help the secondary earn their keep.
-
Buffalo Bills
The Bills should fill this slot with a quarterback if one is available who is a fast learner and strong at reading the defense opposite him. They are solid with this pick, but more movement will help them keep strides in the AFC East.
-
Jacksonville Jaguars
Defense is a priority for Jack Del Rio’s amigos, who have a tendency to run flat on offense. But if they can stall teams early, they can improve their win total for a true playoff run. The Jaguars should take some speed on the defensive line.
As a nation, what are the top ten needs that government should address? If you could list them what would they be? I welcome your input and feelings. This is your America, and you are the general manager. The White House has taken their top picks to the House and is going down the list for a fulfillment of change. Over four years our needs will become greater, and we need to land franchise legislation.

How noble and quaint of Dolphins' GM Jeff Ireland in inquiring whether or not
Dez Bryant's mom was a whore ! Will that now become the norm for the idiot
executives within the NFL ?
He offers an apology to the player but never one to Bryant's mother .
What a friggin' cretin !

I agree. Ireland has hit a new low for NFL executives.
