Yes, I love when you post stuff like this, Nate. And I agree that sadly no amount of legislation is going to keep illegal guns off the street.

I saw an interview with Eulls. What a down-to-earth, modest, unassuming young man. Absolutely deserves every good thing coming his way.

Whatever side one stands on the gun debate, I think everyone can agree that we must find a way to stem the flow of illegal weapons. Statistically, most gun crime is committed with illegal weapons. No amount of legislation is going to stop a gang banger dealing drugs and pimping prostitutes from buying a gun. If we spent have as much time and money that both sides spend on the rhetoric and focused those resources on research as to where the illegal weapons are coming from and enforcing the laws already in place, we'd place a much greater dent into the realm of gun crime.

I feel the problem is our focus is on the wrong place. Legislation without enforcement is worthless, and the main problem now is we can't even enforce the laws already on the books! Once we hurt the illegal sources already in place, we can argue about the legitimacy of legality of further legislation. The irony is, both sides can agree we must wipe out illegal weapons and yet we waste too much time on the politics rather than the issue itself.

Great kid, huh?

Deserves all the kudos he'll get. We'll rightly see him on every news/talk show.

Wonder how it will compare to commentary, media coverage on how/why a 13 year-old has access to a gun or what knee jerk law will be passed to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Nate, I'm sorry. I know this isn't the forum for political commentary, but like sheep on the edge of a cliff, we allow the government have its way--i.e. to force elders to remove their shoes before flying yet, can't pass a law licensing gun use.

Just kills me.
